• About Mr. Yancey

  • My name is Gregory J. Yancey, I am the CEO of GY Investigations and Legal Services Inc., and I am a licensed Private Investigator, licensed through the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.

     Mr. Yancey, is a Vietnam Era Veteran, a retired peace officer for the State of California, the past Administrator of the Monterey County Regional Taxi Authority, past director of the Old Town Salinas Association, past director of the Salinas Jaycees. He is a current member of the Citizens Advisory Committee, for the California Prisons.

    Mr. Yancey, is a local professional and a community leader with 30 years of investigative experience. He brings a wealth of experience to any prospective client. He is a member of the Monterey County Bar Association, Sheriffs Advisory committee and the Correctional Peace Officers Association. His background in investigations began in the United States Army and continued with his career at the California Department of Corrections.

    Mr. Yancey, was commended for identifying breaches in security and counterfeiters of United States currency. He was also recognized for his handling of high profile prison gang members and prisoners, including Dan White, Sirhan Sirhan, and Charles Manson.

    Mr. Yancey, identified and packaged the very first fraudulent Workers Compensation Claim in Monterey County, under the insurance code 1871.4 and thereafter assisted with identifying 72 fraudulent Workers Compensation Claims.

    Mr. Yancey, supports our local nonprofit organizations such as Alliance on Aging, Monterey County Food Bank, Hope Services, The Gateway Center, and the SPCA for Monterey County, Rancho Cielo, the Salinas Valley Memorial Health Care Foundation and many other nonprofit organizations.

    Mr. Yancey, believes in hiring locally therefore their wages go back into the local community and by doing so our local economy continues to thrive.
